I’m currently recovering from a virus and this seems like the perfect game to take my anger out on. Watching those puny, disgusting bacteria dissolve after getting hit by some falling ibuprofen brings me joy… but enough about me.

Dr Mario World is a puzzle game in a long line of series. The game is simple, match the falling coloured pills to the same coloured bacteria to eliminate the grimy virus. Although in this version, the rules have changed.

Usually you would need to match four pills to destroy a virus but now you only need three. The capsules now scroll in from the bottom instead of the top. This may throw some veteran players off but it was due to players hands covering half of the screen, which makes sense.

Other features include a story mode with a classic Mario style world map. You can also challenge anyone online via the Versus match option. This pits you head-to-head against an opponent in real time.

Dr Mario World seems like a great way to spend time while you’re commuting to work or on an ad break before Love Island starts.
