Relive The Tactical Espionage Series Or Keep It As A Shiny Collectable
Back in 2012, Konami released the ultimate collection for it’s famous Action-adventure stealth game series, Metal Gear Solid. Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection was released for PS3 and received critical acclaim, scoring a 93 out of 100 on Metacritic. Though at the time, copies of the game were scarce due to it being released on the PS3’s last dying days.
Now for some reason, Canadian online videogame retailer Videogamesplus has a backorder of the game, which is quite the oddity. Whilst the current stock levels are high, this will no doubt sell out in a few days or possibly hours. The game is currently sought out by Metal Gear Solid fans and newcomers who are trying to get into the series. Ebay currently has the game going for more than £50 and that’s for a used copy.
Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection contains almost all of the mainline games. These are as follows; Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots & Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.
Before purchasing, bear in mind that this is the American version of the game. What that means for UK players is that you will not be able to redeem Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions because they are American DLC codes. Although you may be able to create an American Playstation account and redeem the games that way. Every other game is playable as normal due to the PS3 being region free console.
Another tidbit is that due to COVID-19, there may be a delay in getting your order. You can find out more information about delivery here.
If you manage to get your hands on one, it will surly go up in value. Or if you have never played any Metal Gear game, this is definitely the collection you want in your library.
