Worms Armageddon was released way back in January 1999 and has since been one of the PC’s best-selling games of all time. It is regarded as one of the best entries in the series and the online community is still very active today. The Worms franchise is coming up to its 25th anniversary and developer Team17 has decided to celebrate this by releasing a brand-new update for the game.
The new patch includes 375 bug fixes, 45 changes and 61 new features. One new feature is that 6 players can now play together totalling 48 worms in a single match. Some of these features were originally mods such as the popular physics mod ‘RubberWorm’. Created by the passionate fans of the community, Team17 have decided to keep these changes as permanent features of the game.
Technical stuff such as framerate and animations have also been smoothed over. Worms Armageddon always had an issue crashing when trying to switch windows but thanks to the new patch, borderless window is now an option and the game should function without crashing. Team17 even ensured that Worms Armageddon will still continue to work on Windows 1998 PCs.
The new 3.8 patch is available for Worm’s Armageddon on Steam and you can download it right now!
