With the recent news about a Netflix Legend of Zelda series being cancelled, I thought it would be a good time to look back at one of the internet’s best creations. Artist Matt Vince, created an animation for the Zelda series. Inspired by the art style of Studio Ghibli and it is amazing.
The trailer takes us for a tour around Hyrule with a soothing Ocarina of Time soundtrack playing in the background. We can see many iconic locations from the series such as Death Mountain, Kakariko Village, Lake Hylia and many more.
Matt Vince also created some fantastic posters to complement the trailer.
Hayao Miyazaki is the mastermind behind the wonderful Studio Ghibli films. The animation studio is known for some of the highest-grossing anime movies in Japan. Classics such as Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke and My Neighbour Totoro.
2017’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is heavily inspired by the Ghibli films. The game shares a similar art style. Cutscenes also look to be inspired by a few of the Ghibli films. Maybe the idea of Nintendo and Studio Ghibli working together is not so farfetched.
The sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was announced in 2019. We are hoping to hear more news about it sometime this year.
